Gifts
A note about gifts:
Many of you will be traveling from far away to be at our wedding. Many others are contributing a great deal of time, energy, and creativity to the event. And all of you have so enriched our lives with your friendship and love. Already we can't thank you enough.
As much as possible, we hope this day will revolve around love and community. The last thing we want is our guests to stress about what to get us. (Besides, our little house in Burlington is already full of more stuff than we need!) So please don’t feel any obligation to bring a gift. Truly. Even if it sounds sentimental, your presence really is our present.
We also recognize that some folks may want to celebrate us with a gift -- if that's the case, you are beyond generous and we will accept it with gratitude. Below are a few ideas for those in a gift-giving mood; just know that you can ignore them with a totally clear conscience.

Donation to Kinhaven
Kinhaven offers high-level classical and chamber music programming to over 160 young musicians each summer. Kristin was a student at Kinhaven for six years and has wonderful memories of her summers there. Donations to the Annual Fund help provide scholarships to students who are unable to attend without financial aid.
Favorite Recipes
We can personally vouch for the fact that a great many of you are amazing cooks, please share your go-to recipes with us (the more proprietary, the better)! Pastries, cocktails, soups, stews, roasts...you name it, we'll try cooking it.
Donation to the
Field Academy
The Field Academy partners with students, teachers, schools, and communities across the United States to create immersive, community-driven, place-based educational experiences. Tom has helped to lead three Field Academy expeditions for HS students and believes strongly in the model. Contribute here to help continue to make it possible for all students to participate, regardless of their financial situation.
Guided (by you) Adventure
We love new adventures, but don't always do the best job seeking out and planning them. So do the hard part for us and give us an excuse to hang out! Organize and lead us on a backpacking trip, brewery tour, city cultural exploration, wildlife tracking excursion... whatever you're up for, we'll get up for. Create an amazing memory for (and with) us!
Spain Honeymoon
We're headed to Europe after the wedding! Contribute to a romantic hotel, delicious meal, soccer game, or some other exciting aventura en España! (Been to Andalucia? Send us your recommendations!)
Private Classes & Workshops
If you have a particular skill or talent that you're willing to pass on, we'd love the gift of your expertise! Some things we've thought of include bike maintenance, instrument lessons, cooking classes, pottery, making art, wood working, & technical outdoor skills. But there are surely many others we'd be excited to learn. Teach us!
Home Improvement
Around this time last year we became new homeowners. We've done a few projects here and there, and we're excited to try some more! Any support — in the form of ideas, personal consults, materials, labor, etc. — is very welcome.
Tickets/Passes to Something Awesome
We're not always great about treating ourselves to exciting events, or even knowing which events will be the most exciting. Got a favorite band touring nearby? A sporting event we should check out? A show or festival that can't be missed? We want to be able to say we were there.
